Welcome to the School of Humanities

The School of Humanities is one of three Schools in the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at The University of Western Australia, Perth.

Humanities consists of 45 full time academic staff and over 2,200 students across the Discipline Groups:

The School offers both undergraduate and postgraduate (coursework and research) programs.

The School is actively involved in research, receiving two ARC and one Carrick grant in 2007. The School features several active research groups and centres:

NEWS

The Australian Learning and Teaching Council has awarded Philippa Maddern, Head of School of Humanities, a citation for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning. The citation, one of four awarded to UWA, was made in recognition of 20 years’ practice and development of skills and resources that engage all students of medieval history in active, exciting and reflective study.
