Richard Small, administrative assistant for the Disciplines of Philosophy and Classics & Ancient History, was recently presented with a UWA Safety Recognition Award "in appreciation for maintaining his First Aid skills and for his prompt response in attending to others in need of assistance."

Richard was nominated by the Head of Humanities for his outstanding contribution in helping save the life of a young student who suffered a heart attack during class. Richard's example has resulted in First Aid training for other members of Humanities staff.
