The Don Boyer Roman Archaeology Travel Scholarship is supported by Don Boyer.
The Roman Archaeology Group provides an annual scholarship for students travelling overseas for study.
The scholarship usually covers travel costs for a student to undertake four weeks of Roman fieldwork or an approved program of research in Roman Archaeology.
Fieldwork usually means excavation or ground surveys but the Scholarship Committee will consider other ideas for obtaining significant practical experience with Roman cultural materials (for example, a program of study in a museum collection).
The Committee can also use the fund to enable students to join a Roman Archaeology study tour by the School of Humanities.
Applications are invited for The Don Boyer Roman Archaeology Travel Scholarships.
Submit application by email to David Kennedy.
Scholarship winners are required to submit a brief report to the committee within 3 months of completion of the project. It is expected that applicants will be Members of the Roman Archaeology Group and will present an account for publication by RAG at its discretion.
