The School of Humanities is committed to supporting its MA and PhD students, and provides them with funding and infrastructure for their research activities.


  • Access to computer lab (room G.31, ground floor Arts building).
  • Internet access.
  • Printing facilities: from April 2012, campus cards will be installed with monthly credit at the rate of $8.50 a month.
  • Photocopying of up to 1000 copies per annum.
  • Research-related postage, fax, and telephone access of up to $50 per annum.
  • A postgraduate meeting room (room G.29A) is available on the ground floor of the Arts building.

PhD study rooms

Desk accommodation is available in the postgraduate student study rooms. Due to the limited number of spaces available, access to the desk accommodation is offered to PhD students only. Carrels with a lockable cupboard, network and power points for laptops, and a shared internal phone are available in the Arts Building and Social Sciences building. Spaces are distributed on a first-come-first-serve basis.
